Will disconnecting the red wire also disable the fan on the MMM?

I've got a 5A BEC that I'd like to use in my E-Revo to power a 20KG servo, but would disconnecting the red wire also mean the MMM's fan is disabled too? Thanks.

No it does not disable the fan.

Great, thanks!

The mmm bec should power that servo fine tho.

It should? I was told that the MMM BEC puts out something like 5.5V, and I need 6V for it to work well.

brushlessboy16 01.18.2009 11:05 AM

iirc v3 puts out 6v.

I've got a V2.

Others will know better then I do but I think it may be worth exchanging the V2 for a V3. I do not know if CC did it only on failures but even if you have had good luck it may put you in a better position since teh V3 is more reliable, and as said above provides 6V.

I think that when you disconnect the red wire with the MMM the onboard BEC will continue to work...not like the MM
