8ight-T light weight conversion?
I'm rebuilding my 8t and thinking about keeping it as light as possible using a smallish 6s pack and a 1512 3.5d/f with a V3 MMM.
I'm planning to run it in club races this year and I'm thinking that by running a small pack and motor (as opposed to a 1515) I'll get better handling and quickness even if I do have to change packs a bit more often. So, has anyone got any thoughts on whether that combo will handle the load? |
If you run very light wheels and tires and keep speed to around 35mph max it should be fine. Heavier wheels and tires are the main difference with a buggy and a truggy. The lighter motor and battery should help as well.

The LPR wheels/tires are about the lightest available. Whatever you do, do not scrimp on battery quality. You may want to try some of the new lipos Mike has been selling, they look good.

Lightweight lipos?
Thanks for the replies.
I've already got the LPR's, they're probably half the weight of the stockers. What gearing would you recommend? and who has the best lightweight lipos? Is there a spend-more-to-weigh-less option? |
