hot bodies lightning 10 buggy
Hi 1 st post so be gentle with me!!!
will the lightning stadium 10 (truggy) motor mount fit a lightning 10 buggy? also they are out of stock at the moment, any idea when they will be available? can anyone recommend me a motor and esc for it, bashing only and with a tight budget so less than £100 ($140) for the pair:lol: will be run on 7.2 for now but maybe lipo later |
anyone?

The truck mount is slightly taller than the buggy mounts. In order to use the LS10 mount on the buggy you either have to use spacers to increase the height of the buggy front mount or replace it with a LS10 mount. I would just replace it with the LS10 mount.

I'm not really farmiliar witht the lightning 10 buggy, but I am assuming that HB didnt make a new diff mount for the buggy vs the thruggy. I would go on the HB website and download the manuals to make sure its the same part number for both the buggy and truggy versions. If its the same part number the mount will work. Id say I'm 90% confident that it would.
As far as stock goes, the only person who can answer that is Mike. shoot him an email. He should be able to tell you. mike(at)rc-monster.com sometimes he even has an odd part sitting around that isnt showing up on the website. Sounds like a fun little project. I always thought about doing one of those. Best of luck and be sure to post some pictures when you get it going. :) EDIT: Starscream beat me to it and sounds like he knows better than me. Getting the staduim diff mount to replace the buggy one sounds like the simple solution to me. |
The mounts are in stock. :)

I should clarify, The easiest way to use Mikes LS10 Motor Mount on the HB buggy is to use the stock LS10 center diff mount. The reason the diff mounts are different height is that the buggy uses a much smaller spur gear than the truck. You can also uses shims/spacers to raise the height of the buggy stock diff mount to work with the RCM mount but the stock LS10 mounts are cheap, the exact height, and don't require any additional work. |

cheers for that will get ordering.
can you remember what motor and pinion you used on the buggy? |
last question, will the mod one pinions be ok wuth the 1/10 lightning spur gear?

What about original Lightning and Lightning 2 buggies
I have an original Lightning buggy or maybe a Lightning 2 (not sure, I traded for it). The Lightning 2 parts seem to fit, so far.
So should I buy the RCM lightning truggy mount and a Lightning truggy center diff mount to make that work? Also see the new D2 mount on RCM. Might it be better to get the D2 mount and a stock D2 center diff mount? |
