I didn't see this listed anywhere on here. If it has then just ignore.

So they are now doing the same thing as RC Monster chassis and moving the center diff to the center?? is that the only real change?

hootie7159 01.23.2009 12:56 PM

no tires!?!!?? come on now!...

RC-Monster Mike 01.23.2009 01:01 PM

i am pretty sure they are using the nitro chassis(just like Losi did). I think it will be heavy on the battery side vs. my chassis kit.

Lame. RC-Monster FTW!

Sower 01.23.2009 06:05 PM

The RCM kit destroys this one. Looks just like the Losi knock off if you ask me, and I totally agree with Mike that it will be heavy on the battery side.

Is that a MMM esc?

Sower 01.23.2009 06:38 PM

Yep, here's a shot from the other side:

I guess I should have rephrases what I meant.. that it looked like the stock chassis just moved the center diff.. not necessarily Mikes kit.. I am debating on an 8ight or RC8.. Only bonus for the 8ight is I have and 8-T..

Sower 01.23.2009 07:24 PM

You might also talk with Ben at our track about what to expect with the RC8. He loves his, but he said you should be prepared to do a few things to it right out of the box. Can't remember what he said, but it might be good info for you. He just bought the 8ight too and plans on comparing them both.

I know in my first race last year i barely bumped him and it broke his front a arm when we raced the electric class that is the only thing that makes me skeptical about getting one.. I would swap out truggys and buy mike chassis for both rc8 and rc8t because they look like they work well.. but i need something that can take a beating, to make up for me not being able to drive..

If this is indeed the stock chassis, then it most likely did not move the center diff. In order to move the center diff, they would have to do a production run of new chassis or drill new holes on existing chassis and bore the spur gear hole off to the side.

Mikes kit blows this away.

If you were going to do Mikes conversion would it really make a difference if you had the RTR or full team? Is the only difference the shocks? and carbon fiber?
