BidProduct 540 Finned Cans. "how to get front endbell off?"
Ive been trying and trying to get this front endbell of my bidproduct finned can 540 xl and it wont budget. Ive heated it to 200 degrees numerous times. The rear endbell came off fairly easy after some heating and taping of the rotor to the rear endbell. Im begining to think its a screw on endbell in the front. Is their any particular way I can go about removing this without damaging anything on the motor. I dont care if the windings get damaged because their getting removed asap inplace for better ones.

I have no idea if it is screw on or not. Most of the cheaper motors have screw on front endbells...
|
have you tried putting some screws into the front endbell and using those for grip?
I dont know if I can type out exactly what I mean.... but the idea is to put two screws in the front endbell (longer than usual) and leave them sticking out a bit. Then place the motor (endball down) into a vice. Tighten the vice down onto the two screws that are sticking out. Then us some kind of a strap wrench to wrap around the can and twist. |
I tried that when it was heated and it still didnt budget.
Im going to try this next. I have a spare outrunner 25mm spacing mount that Im going to screw onto the front endbell with 4 screws and use those longer prongs for leverage. "silver mount" http://www.rcmdirect.co.uk/store/ima...rqueSeries.gif |
Just screw the front end off, I did it yesterday to look at the rotor. The wire side is held with the screws, but you'll have to tap it out since it's glued on as well. I can make a quick video if you want?

I think he has already tried unscrewing it, the problem is it won't unscrew. Maybe Takedown just needs to eat more spinach?
|
Takedown,
Did you try unscrewing it clockwise or counterclockwise? Not trying to be funny, but I've seen many people actually tighten things more instead of unscrewing it. |
Now that would be funny if that's what the problem is! Now, let's see if it is the issue, and if he'll admit it.
