If you use mech brakes which you will have to anyways I would reccomend a Hobbywing Sentilion 100a 12s ESC and as for lipos if you want budget check out www.unitedhobbies.com and take a look into the flightmax packs and if not check into flightpower, neu energy, thunder power, true r/c etc... I reccomend running 8-10s, 10s max seeing that the kv on that motor is higher.

is this what u ment cause i could not find the hobbywing

I wouldn't skimp out on the ESC area with such a beast of a motor. Most people with that caliber will run a Schulze 40.160 or a Jeti SPIN200 or SPIN300. Both those ESCs can work with a pistol radio. The 40.160 has a car mode, but no lipo cut off. The SPINs doesn't have a car mode, but the brakes can be disabled so you can run your mechanical and the SPINs offers all the benefits of the 40.160 plus more. You can even check AMP draw and motor RPM if you have the progam box.

True they are pricy, but there are those certain occasion where I would go with the top dogs. He already owns a motor that can cost over $500 depending on the condition one is lucky to get it in, so I'm guessing $$$ is not really an issue here and it shouldn't be. Those Lehners can and will ask for a lot of AMPs and I would only go with top quality stuff which include the batteries.

MGM also has a 10S capable 90A esc, or even a 120A version. I really like my MGM 9032, and I know mike has those in the store. 90 or 100A at 35V loaded is 3500W. That's alot of power. Should work great, and mech brakes solves any esc issues (prolly the way to go with such a huge car anyway.)

Maxamp lipos are overpriced and mediocre performers. RCM has some great lipos in the store. A pair of his black label lipos in 5S would be a great 10S setup. There are other lipos as well. Zippy lipos are powerful and cheap as well, but they can be a bit dodgy in quality sometimes. For what you are doing I'd get a decent batt as well.

ok so kinda pack sould i get

Takedown 01.31.2009 12:58 PM

I would reccomend anything above 5000mah and has atleast a 25c continious discharge rate with atleast a 40c burst discharge rate. I would take a look into the neu energy 5000ep 5s v2 battery for $235. Pick up two.

dopey_in_iraq 01.31.2009 01:04 PM

ok thanks guys

BL_RV0 01.31.2009 01:23 PM

Since you have a 1570 Kv motor, you should get an 8S setup, I think 10S will be too high RPM.
