interested in speed

i currently have a fairly modified stampede with the ss5800 novak in it, its fairly quick, not sure exactly what numbers (15/87gearing), but i want to do something in the area of 45+ mph if its possible

what motor/controller will make this possible, also i would like to use the same one in my ezilla if possible, so it would need to run 7-14 cells at least

i was looking at the feigao 9L and the 9920 warrior

-ps, i searched first and didnt find a definitive answer ;)

also, my coworker has a new emaxx and got 2 14 turns at 70$ each and now thinks his maxx is untouchable, he thinks brushless is a fad and cant beat his maxx also, which does a guess of 36-38mph, so i kinda wanna show him what brushless is actually capable of

so if i find a good answer ill buy what i need from here for sure

im not sure but i dont think that the 9L is capable of running on 7 cells but im not sure.

Personally I'd run a lehner 4200 basic on 8 cells, that would haul around 50 mph easy. As for a controller, the mgm 80 amp compro is very nice ( i have this setup for sale but that's a whole other matter ;) )

For the e-zilla a 9L and 9920 would be great on 12 cells. I would hesitate to run 12 in a pede since the weight will hinder performance greatly. On 7-8 cells you can get a lot of power out the lehner 4200 and it will feel like a light truck still.

well i wouldnt mind buying 2 motors, but 2 controllers isnt happening, least not for a while, so i could get a 9l for the zilla and maybe the 8s or lehner (though its alot more $), i have a 7 cell now, but its old so ill replace it with an 8 cell most likely

so would the 9920 be fine with both of those? that way i can pull out the controller easily

how would i gear it anyways, 18/87? thanks for the help so far :)

Hi and welcome to the forums. I don't know what set up you will need but you can talk to the owner of this site and store. Just go to contact at the bottom of the home page and Mike (the owner) will help you out. As far as your coworker thinking bl is a fad he is in for a lot lost races. An E-MAXX set up right will not only smoke him it will smoke most any gas/nitro around. Just get with mike and your friend will be sorry :D :D

the 9920 would be fine with both motors although im not sure about the gearing. you might want to get a ubec also.

A 380c 9t or a lehner basic 4200 will both get you to 45 mph, possibly 50 mph on 9 cells or 3s lipo. A 10 or 11s geared really high would actually be the best 540 motor(s), but the smaller motors will accelerate faster. The reason why I do not recommed the 8s is because you wont be drawing enough amps to reach it's max efficiency.

get a good brushless sytem smoke your coworker and hopefully he will relize that brushless isnt a fad!!!

ps i know people that think brushed is the way to go and they make me mad
