I'm new to this forum, and bought a Christmas present to myself - a new EMAXX which i've upgraded with the following prior to running. A Proline kit which includes Powerstroke shocks ( by the way, I'm not going to use the "bypass" shocks because they don't supply enough dampening. In its place I'm using the stock shock with the biggest and next to biggest preload spacer which pretty much matches the powerstroke coil over shock. I carefully turned the cap a 1/8 turn which i hope will prevent the cap from "POPPING". I have read too many people complaining about the emaxx bottoming out and realized that the bypass shocks just won't do. It's like a battey pack, it's only as good as the weakest cell. Well, then the suspension is only as good as the strongest shock!!!. I've included in my truck new shocks, "3 Racing" motor heat sinks, full Proline RPM CVD'S, front and center integy type 2 silver aluminum skid plates, rpm aluminum hex hubs, titanium turnbuckles, stainless steel hinge pin set, RPM bulkhead brace kit, 64 tooth spur gear to reduce torque a little and increase top speed. The body is more of a neon green which i like!!!! I will show pics when completed. Nothing fancy, just my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would honestly run the bypass shocks. you would be suprized one there on there. the provide ALOT of dampening. if its still not enough try 40 or 45 weight with 35 or 40 in the shocks. that should cure any problem you have although the truck is made to bottom out. if not it will just bounce or tumble.

O.K.>>>>>>> I will run the bypass....... I will put at least 50 wt. oil and install. After all, I did buy as a kit and they do look extremely cool,(and very well manufactured) althought the weight is an issue. I guess I have to experiment. South Park is on and I have to go!!!!!

I also had to use heavy weight oil in the bypass shocks. The powerstroke shocks really do work great.
