Proof of purchase a must for warranty repairs?
Do you have to have some kind of proof of purchase for warranty repairs? I bought my Mamba Max brand new from someone, but I never got any "Proof" of when they bought it. Does that mean I have no warranty?
|
Usually that's how it works unless there is a factory defect to begin with.

I'm pretty sure they have a way of knowing when it was approximately bought. You can send it in and they will access whether it is out of warranty. At worst you have to pay 50 bucks and it was a risk you took when purchasing the item from someone without a receipt.

I usually just fill out the repair/service request form from CC's site, place it in the original box, wrap it up nice and neat, and track it. I have sent in 3 MMM's without proof of purchase (though I could produce them if needed) and have gotten 3 back from CC. On the first one I got a call from CC letting me know that they were sending me a new V3. Boy am I a sucker for excellent customer service!

Email them and explain your situation. They are really awesome to deal with, excellent customer service. I had to send my esc in right after I bought it after diagnosing the internal BEC wasn't functioning, They sent me a little envelope with prepaid postage and already addressed n ready to go. Popped the esc in and tossed it in the mailbox. But that was a factory defect, not sure what your situation is, if it's something you did to it, it may have different circumstances, I'd be 100% honest with them and see what they want to do. I know when I toast my esc or 6900, I'll be paying because it's about a year into it and/or I know I am misusing/abusing it and it's not their fault in any way. They've been nothing but really nice and professional.
BTW, that was without proof of purchase, but then as mentioned above about the MMMs, I don't think the 6900s were out for more than a year at the time I bought it. |
crap!!..I cant find my receipt

If that is a dead MM in an eRevo on > 3s then it will not be covered by warranty anyway.

No sir...its 4s 1512/1,5d (2700kv)

Including a proof of purchase when claiming warranty is highly recommended. Without we have no way of knowing when you actually purchased the product. Sometimes we have ways of telling how old the controller is, and if we can verify it was not made more than a year ago, we will usually consider it within one year; but there is no guarantee without the receipt.
There are of course other factors when it comes to warranty, not just the proof of purchase. Here is a direct quote from the repair page on our website: WARRANTY IS VOIDED BY
So unfortunately if you purchased it from a friend, we generally do not accept it as a warranty. We can make exceptions in certain cases, but unfortunately there is no guarantee. Thomas Porfert Castle Tech Support |

But seriously, put the remains in 2 or 3 plastic baggies and send it off with $50 and we'll ship you a brand new Mamba Max  |
Oh, that can be fixed. A little cleaner here, a little solder touch-up there, and it would be as good as new!

If I put your name in the box and tell Patrick who told me to do this will you be reprimanded?:whistle: |
Wow! I think I will send it in and hope for the best. I saw the inside of my buddys and his has a date and a cereal number. Is this how the tell when its made? IDK I will send it back regardless of if its free or if it costs me $50. I think I am going to get a MMM for my E-Maxx anyways. Thanks guys!
