RCM RC8T Conversion, compatible with aluminum chassis braces?
Can you use aftermarket or that AE aluminum chassis braces? I am looking at using either the Kings Headz stuff, or the AE stuff that came out. But I don't want to spend the money and find out it doesn't work.
|
yah it uses the stock ae braces so that means you can use any brace thats for the rc8t
|
ok. I just wasn't if aftermarket braces would key into the center diff riser correctly.
|
Cain,
My King Headz chassis braces will be here tomorow. I'll let you know if they work. |
i got mine on the way too but they are out of stock right now till next week. If they don't fit, what do you plan to use next? I was thinking of the plastic chassis braces instead then.
|
i just picked up a BAD-ASSS rtr RC8t with RCM chassis conversion,DX3r,NEU1515, MMM and NEU 4s lipo!!...i cant wait to BLING it out a little!
where did you guys get the parts?? |
what parts are you wanting specifically? if you mean the kings headz braces, I had to order them from carolinas rc. They are out of stock right now, but more will come next week. If however JHauz finds they do not fit correctly on the RCM conversion, i will cancel my order for the parts or return them if they have already gone out and get the RTR braces and a replacement chassis brace for the one that bent and go from there.
|
i run the rtr braces on my buggy
|
They fit. I actually think the front one fits better than the stock brace.
(sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures. Didnt feel like getting the real camera) http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...T/photocb3.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...T/photocb2.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...T/photobc1.jpg |
those look good,i might strip them and polish them!!
how much for front and rear!! |
Not cheap, $21 each, but its worth it if they dont bend or break the ends like the AE parts.
|
JHauz, keep us posted on how handling is.
BY the way, for the nice low wire job you did on the motor to ESC connection, what are you using to hold the wire down when you put the zipties on? |
Quote:
For the wires its pretty much just gravity. I use a zip tie cable mount thing right behind the motor to keep the rigid motor wires from moving around. When you bundle the wires together like that it makes them pretty stiff so they dont move realy. I use to mount the wires up high going over everything and try and keep it from getting pulled down, but then I just figured why fight gravity when I can use it to my advantage. :mdr: Havent had any issues with it moving at all. |
cool. I'll have to give doing that a look, or, at least get the wires down somehow and not tied to the chassis brace. though, with the kingz headz ones, I think flex won't be an issue like the stocker.
