Losi 8ight convert to metric

I got a Losi 8ight (and other cars).
Since the 8ight is the only one I have using imperial screws I am thinking of buying a metrical screw set. Also I have no good tools for imperial.

My question is: Will it only be the heads that are changed to mm instead of inches or do I have to drill/re-tap parts as well, ie will the threading also change ?

everything is counter sunk for english screws so that would have to change

If the holes are tapped for imperial threads (which they are) then using a metric-threaded screw will damage them. Metric/SAE threads are not alike. It might hold initially but it will strip out over time.

OK thanks, I will stick to imperial then now I need to get new tools and screws and a new box for it all as well then.

The same happened to me when I bought some FLM parts for my Rustler. They were SAE sizes. I had to buy more tools and a SAE screw kit for replacements. I should've had the tools anyways. Just make sure you keep the SAE/Metric stuff separated.
