4s2p lipos?
Does anyone make a 4s2p lipo pack? Or in other words a 4s pack only broken up like a saddle pack? I am running my E-Maxx on lipos now but charging two 2s packs is getting to really be a pain. So does anyone know of a good battery company that makes what I am looking for?

easy - just buy 2 4s packs and use a parallel adapter...
|
Or two 2s packs and use a series adaptor...

You could make an adapter to charge your 2 2s lipos as a 4s lipo, as long as your charger can handle 4s lipo. Not difficult, post a pic of the batteries, and a close up of the balance plugs. Brian's site can give you a wiring diagram to do it as well.
As far as a 4s pack broken up into 2 2s packs but factory wired as a 4s pack... I have never seen one. It would be easy enough to make a 4s pack into what you want, but I would need the chassis to get wire lengths correct. A 4s2p pack has 8 cells total, 4 pairs of paralled cells that are arranged in series to achieve 4s. Probably not what you are looking for. |
I have hardcased lipos so that might be a problem. Thats why I asked you guys.
Thanks for the help. Id really like to see if someone could help me make my 2s lipos into a 4s pack. |

Yeah id rather have it so I could still use them as 2s packs for the Pede and drifter. Would you be able to make one?

TrueRC 2s 5000mAh packs.

Most of those packs have hyperion taps. I can make something that will work.

On a semi-related note. I want to verify that I can wire a 4x 2s1p packs to get 2 2s2p packs. I think I end up with the same number of cells, 8, but want to make sure I do it right.
Also, anything I need to know to solder LiPos? The only reason I ask is that I found some cheap Chinese packs on e-bay and they are 2s1p. They are only 10c but I will be running them in a Summit with a deWalt 14.4v motor. |

That way you do not have to solder directly to the lipo, over remove the shrink. Just tape or shrink the packs together. |
I think I may have to disassemble the packs for two reasons. One is QA and the other is to ensure that they will fit inside the battery bays.
Stupid battery bays. I hate them and their ability to limit my battery buying options. |
