CC MMM v. HPI Flux
What is this ??
Are they the same ? http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z.../mm-combos.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...lur_n_Tork.jpg  |
Doh! Yes same - just a different motor case design...

twins!!!!!!

re-badged. I wish HPI didn't try to make it their own by re-badging it...at least Traxxas is being original with their BL E-revo...

I believe that Traxxas will not support the MMM...they will pass that along to CC. HPI, on the other hand will probably have to do their own troubleshooting with their customers. ...If I were Castle.....I'd much rather not have to deal with the load of NOOB's that will be calling and asking stupid questions.... ....I'd make a "Traxxas" sticker and happily give it toTraxxas for them to slap on there and let them deal with it. |
hmm, i rly agree with that perspective. Good point hoov^^^

I have it from some very reputable sources that this will not be the last time we see this unit rebaged.
|
Which raises the question.. If you mildly repackage something and try to sell it for more than the original, who is expected to buy it? I can't see HPI selling these for less than the MMM combo sells now, so I assume it will be more expensive. The only rationale I can gather is that perhaps HPI will sell them in other markets overseas where Castle is not readily sold. Just this past year I didn't see any Castle products for sale in Japan in the major R/C shops, but tons of HPI stuff..
|
Not to be rude, but I don't know how many of the HPI loyalists will realize that they can get the same equipment for a lower price from a different source. I know that Traxxas has been putting out electric MTs for a while and I don't know if HPI really has. I know they have the firestorm and the savage, but thats all i can think of.
But your right, HPI will get some serious n00bz calling in saying that their system doesn't work. Ya de ya da... |
Well here in Denmark I can only find the 1:18 CC combo so if the hpi is cheeper I still wonīt buy it
I know that the CC customer support is as good as Traxxasīs support But when my Wheely King TX didenīt work after only two weeks ( no range)and I fried the ESC after only 3 weeks I contacted hpi ...... the never replied Traxxas on the other hand send me a new VXL-3s after I had broken the wires of the VXL ESC .... NO questions asked !!!!!:yipi: So no I wonīt use any HPI labelīd electronics ever again .... Even if it is a descend looking re-badged CC MMM Whew ... just my 2 centīs  |
Price comparison

The revo. It handles better, is more versatile, and comes with the 2.4ghz radio.
