That is pretty cool!! One can only imagine how much it would cost $1300???

I wonder how long till the rest follow...

Holy cow!

Nice to see a manufacturer try to come up with something different.

Sad to see they are still trying to push the 2 x 2S LiPo packs.:grrrrrr:

Just saw that an hour or so ago. Definitely looks cool. Just more like a traditional electric 4wd buggy. Now just make that rear diff a slipper and I would really be excited. Really looks like 8th scale electric is starting to really kick off.

Maybe Mugen, Koyosho, Xray will be next... I know, wishful thinking!:mdr:

I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas, if it's out by then and if X-Ray dose'nt beat them to it.

That HW esc looks like its from the 80s

You guys should look at the Ishimira (Don't know if I spelled it right). Now that's a design that should've been done. Strange thing is that I contacted most of them asking for the front and rear assembly to make a electric version and now they have one lol. It's nice now as this can only mean some nice 8th scale racing to come.

The hyper9 is a trribute to MrC's car... and most current 1/10 4wd buggies lol

I was working on the exact same bloody design with another caster guy... I was surprised that AE didn't do it this way

I just hope they sell it as a roller so the customer can put the electronics of their choice in it. That Hobbywing/Speed Passion stuff isn't going to cut it.

So the Hyper 9 is a tribute to Mr. C, the Mr. C from Germany who probably makes the best 8th scale conversions? If I was Mr. C, I would not allow that.

glassdoctor 02.07.2009 02:35 PM

lol.... well, you know what I mean. :) those of us who remember/know what he has made, will know that the hyper9 is not revolutionary...

I wouldnt say its that much like the MrC conversions. Only similarity is the spur gear moved to the back. MrC used slipper instead of center diff, 2 battery packs instead of one, CF chassis instead of aluminum and had a full length front to rear chassis top plate as a stiffener.

The Hyper 9 is by far the most revamped and (in my opinion) optimized layout that has been released yet. Especially from the big name manufacturers which to date have all pretty much just copied the rear dif bulk replacement and battery box that bolts into the nitro chassis holes approch. Glad to see one of the big guys taking a stab at rethinking things a bit. I'm sure this wont be the final word in the electric 1/8 layouts, but it has certainly steped out a bit from the efforts of most of the other big names.

The one item I'm questioning is the motor mount which looks very similar to the one Mike has made.
