Brushless E-Revo or Savage Flux
So I know this a dumb question but I thought I would ask any way. I've been into R/C for over a years I own about 30 different R/Cs and have owned 3 different Traxxas models in the past. (1st gen E-maxx, 3.3 Revo and Slash) My current fixation is crawling but fancy something fast to bash and race with friends. I've tend to stick with Traxxas because I hate HPI engines but with the new Savage Flux I may be swayed.
I've chosen these two models because they use the same power system and are of comparative size. I'm not fussed about radio as I'll use my DX3R and I'll probably go with NiMh packs for ease of use. I'll mainly be running in carparks, my local BMX track and maybe the odd racing track. So has anyone tried either or both of these that could give me any clues as to which one I should go for. |
I would go with neither if you plan to use nimhs.... Both are geared too high for nimhs to handle without melting (or close).
Pick up some decent 2s lipos, with a pair of those you should get around 40mph out of either. And by decent I mean polyquest 6000 25c packs. No maxamps... For bashing go with the flux, for racing go with the revo. |

Since you said mainly parking lot bashing, it really depends.
What kind of parking lot bashing? The kind where you get off jumps and not? If so, Flux. If the one where you just run around, and giggle as you get some air (I'm bored, what?), ERevo. BMX track, really depends, since it's big jumps, Flux, if they're small jumps, ERevo. Track is just ERevo. Yeah, I agree with Linc. Save for some LiPos before going BL. It'll melt the hell out of em. |
