Losi Truggy Q

Hey lookin at doing a Truggy conversion

is a Neu 1512 2.5d sufficient for the Losi Eight-T or is it going to be too small?

Looking at 4-5s Lipo with a MMMV3

I have a 1512 as a back-up motor for both my 8T and 8B. It will move a 10lbs truggy with no problem. I used the 1512 in my ST-RR and it still had plenty more power than I needed. On 4S the 1512 2.5 will be at 30k rpm and at 5S it will be around 37k rpm and those are both good numbers.

The 1512 might be ok if kept geared low enough, but typically the 1515 series is a more common choice. You can get a kv equivalent to the 1512, but the added surface area of the longer motor will keep it cooler.

ok so I figure a larger motor, would you suggest the 2200 or 2650 Castle?

We have to use a max of 4 cell in racing these

Also any clue on gearing?
