Batteries stackable?
Hello all.
I am going dual brushless with my E-Maxx and I am going to get the carbon fiber G-Maxx chassis. I will be running 28cells. My question is, will the G-Maxx chassis hold all 28cells, 14 on each side stacked on top of eachother? Clearance is my main concern. Thanks John |

I dont believe that is going to work - i think that you might not have the clearance on the servo side - unless you come up with a unique way of mounting the cells. I'v never seen it done with 28 before - Man that thing is gonna rip....

The G-maxx chassis will hold up to 15 cells per side if properly stacked and everything will clear. It will be a tank (very FAAAAST tank)with all those cells, but it can be done.

Welcome to the forums. I tried stacking 13 cells just to see how they fit and it was no problem. What motor are you going to use on with 28 cells?

Thanks everyone for your help.
I will be using a dual feigao 9L set-up with the warrior controllers. Just waitig to get them in the mail and I'm sure I will have lots more questions for you guys through out the installation process. I will post some pics when it is complete. John |

yea - get some nice pics before you run it - And be careful - dual bl is AWESOME power. I know someone who tried it for a hot sec and snapped the rear shocktower ( aluminum ) in half. Needless to say it was too much power and back to one motor for him. Now if i could only remember who it was...... Hmmmm...... :D

Yeah, dual brushless is not necessary for most. The broken aluminum shock tower was from an insane rolling wheelie (actually, the truck leapt off the ground and landed on the Supermaxx rear tower with enough force to snap it clean in half).

i noticed a semi unfair comparison of single bl vs. duel bl....number of cells!!
People are always saying that their duel is way more powerful than a single. But you basically comparing a 24 celled duel bl emaxx to a 12-16 celled single bl. I mean it's only so obvious that you would get more torque and speed...not because you have two motors, but because you have twice the amount of cells! From what i have read here and at maxxtraxx, a single BL on 12 cells vs. a duel BL on 12 cells the single BL will come out on top due to efficiency. This knowledge mostly came from hiamplidude |
True. I always recommend a single system. The efficiency is a reason, along with the weight and ability to troubleshoot a problem. In a single system, if something goes wrong, it doesn't work. Pretty easy to diagnose! In a dual system, if one system is working and the other is not (you might not notice), you will most likely blow the controller that isn't working (and it could be a simple connection causing it not to work, but it will likely be overloaded with the power reversing throught the tranny, as a brushless motor acts like a generator).
