Jammin X1 CR
 

I will be getting a jammin x1 cr soon and want to convert it to electric in time...after I get my caster vehicle up and running

I plan on racing this at my local track OCRC

I was wondering what would be a good setup that will have good power on 3s and maybe 4s from time to time?

choices between castle setup or the novak kit...I know some people don't novak but they have a great warranty and since the track is small I don't need to worry about the top speed cause the straight is short.

also i plan on running plastic spur for the noise reduction...should I opt for the 46 kyosho spur and say 13/14 pinion?

I didn't know OCRC is your local track? It's about a 15min drive for myself and several other members here.

Personally I like a kv of ~2000, 4s 4900mah, and geared for 40-45mph. That's the setup my buggy is running, and it runs great. The MMM is an awesome ESC.

that's what's up...when do you run there? i run mostly slash right now since that's my only electric

Only out there maybe once a month, generally on a Thursday.

Quick note, most guys are running steel spur gears. While they are louder than plastic, there is always the possibility of stripping the plastic gears. And from my experience it won't be all that much quieter.

once a month? you need to come out there and drive the IFS corr truck also i will try my luck with plastic first if I tear them up I'll go back to metal..thanks for the tip and knowledge though...

my main question is what setup should I run the mamba monster or novak? I prefer the mamba because I would like to run it out at revalations and i know the novaks can't handle the long straights...or so i've been told

I want to go out there more often but there's lots going on right now, school being near the top. The Pro-4 needs some serious work before its next outing anyways...

In all honesty I couldn't recommend the Novak system. The MMM is so powerful and yet so smooth, not to mention the unlimited motor and battery options, that it puts the Novak system to shame (IMO). Sensorless has always been my choice, and it's only getting better.
