Range issues

Running a Sidewinder in my rustler, and the stock trx AM radio, Yes yes, i know Dsm is better, I don't have the money right now. Anything i could do to help its range, antenna is away from esc and motor. What about useing a diffret battery? Instead of AA's maybe a ni-cd pack or lipo?

Braid your motor wires, try moving the enire receiver away from any power wires.. the leads to the battery also throw interference up.

Ok, i'll braid my wires when i get my 4mm bullets. How can i shrink the heat shrink? lol.

mriccucci 02.23.2009 06:54 PM

heat gun or soldering iron, i used to have a 40mm fan i ran across my iron to heat it, took forever but worked. You can set the iron on the heat shrink but only for a few seconds not too long.

Ok, good to know. LOl, one last question, How do you solder bullets? I've never seen em in person. Im just trying not to screw up my rustler.

brushlessboy16 02.23.2009 07:17 PM

get some sort of holder, Like helping hands, pliers with a rubber band, or holes drilled in a piece of wood..

Lightly tin the wire, then fill the cup on the bullets with solder
insert the wire with heat applied and wait for everything to melt together.

I use a lighter to shrink my heatshrink

Sounds good, Thanks Ben, and Mriccucci

the only tools I would trust from Harbor Freight would be hand tools(wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers)

Its just a hairdryer on steroids...I have two and haven't had any problems whatsoever and I've had one of them for around 4 or 5 years. I also like there airtools. There cheap, last a long time, and when there done, just throw em away and buy a new one. I've had some of there airtools last long than Mac, Snapon, and others. There HVLP paint guns are decent too.
