i dont know why they put plastic shocks...and the 3mm stamped aluminum shock towers???

release is around april and msrp is $669

i really hope they come out with a factory team edition.
but sounds a bit pricey already as is...

MSRP for Associated is usually pretty high compared to the street price. The RC8e has a MSRP of $899 and can be found for $460. I'd imagine the RC8Te may end up under $400.

thats a awesome price now i want to know if those are plastic shocks or just the ae dull looking lack paint on the shocks

its a POS compared to mikes kits

only decent thing i see is the composite spur would be nice and quite but i wouldnt run it, because most of use mikes pinions and we dont have problems with them wearing out like all the other cheapo junk pinions...

Yeah, for the extra ~150 or so, buy the nitro kit and use Mikes conversion. Looks much better to me.

This is the RTR RC8T with the AE conversion kit on it. It even looks like it has the plastic steering top plate, steel turnbuckles instead of the titanium ones, plastic chassis braces instead of the aluminum ones, etc...

I have the FT with Mikes conversion and love the truggy. My only complaint is the AE parts seem fragile compared to what I am used to in my old truggies. If this is using parts that are not as good as the FT I'd avoid it and go with the FT version and the RCM conversion. But for $399 its pretty hatrd to not think it wil bring in quite a few who have been curious but not willing to drop big cash on a full blown conversion. AE might have a decent strategy in getting some that are on the fence to try it with the low price. I just hope it doesnt backfire on them and turn out to be a POS.

WOW... that's a low price for a fully rtr electric 1/8th. The 3mm shock towers worry me the most. Knowing what I put my trucks through (and what I've seen other members here put their trucks through), I would be really worried about snapping or bending them. I like the plastic spur though... it should be pretty quite.

Its a roller. Not fully RTR. I meant it was based on the Nitro RTR parts not the Factory team parts.

I dont like plastic shocks. Especially on an 8th scale. I do think the price point is great though. Should get more people looking at electric 8th scales.
