Evolva FE conversion question
Hi all,
anyone tried to convert an Evolva to electric before, should i go for Novak HV 4.5 or MMM 2650kv on 4s with stock gears, i want to go at least 60mph. thanks for all help |
what is an evolva? and neither of those combos will get you to 60mph on 4s....unless this is some little 1/10th scale.......
|
I beleive it's an 8th scale touring car?
|
Kyosho Evolva, its 1/8 scale touring car like Serpent
|
Go for the MMM. The novak is junk in anything over 2wd 10th scale offroad cars...

I'd say the 2650 if you NEVER plan on running 6 lipo. Either way it will be amazingly fast. The 2650 will be perfect for 4s and maybe 5s in a 8th scale touring car. Look at the other conversions before you make your decsion. There are a few serpent ones running around out there. One is called "the 1/8th scale onroad think tank".

So... is it the one i need for the gear to fit into those 5mm shaft? will it fit the stock Kyosho pinion gears?
oh god, i really dont know nothing about conversion, please help:lol: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...adapter&cat=40 |
That will work. Your options (that I know of) are that, The electri-clutch adapter from tekno or just a regular single 5mm bore mod1 pinion.
Here's the tekno adapter - http://www.teknorc.com/product_info....a1fa72baafc260 |

I think you'll be very happy with just a pinion. about half the people that have had electric clutches hate them, saying they are just extra parts to break, and some love them and swear by them.

I'm in the midst of an Evolva conversion myself. I took the 2-speed apart and used the larger of the 2 gears and the hub of the smaller gear (after turning it down) to make a set screw "spur gear" to go on the jackshaft. I glued the hub (jb weld) into the larger gear. I picked up a Novak 4.5 HV after seeing a Mugen with that system going every bit as fast as the gas cars were.(youtube) I sure wish I could find a diff for the rear! Don

I picked up Novak's heat sink ( it fits on the motor and is drilled& tapped). I'm going to use it to mount the motor to the chassis. I just need to find a machinist to slot the chassis. There is a column somewhere that he responded to the gearing question-but I can't remember where.(darn it!) I'm going to start off @ 14/48. Don
