am or fm with brushless

I have a brushless setup in my emaxx with the 27mhz tq traxxas am radio and reciever and it is almost undriveable because the glitching . Sometimes I will be going full speed and it will glitch the brakes and start tumbling going 40 or 50mph. Is there a better am or fm i can get or should I just save up for a 2.4 ghz radio and reciever?

Go for 2.4 - You can pickup a cheap setup for $70, good used setup $150, great new setup for just over $200

A 2.4 gHz radio resolved all my glitching and range problems.

I think he means the losi rtr 2.4 setup. It comes with a bunch of models, but they usually sell on ebay for around 70 bucks. Not the best radio, but much better than most, and it is 2.4 as well.

Correct Pimp... Often the tx are almost free and thr rx go for the regular 45-55 price tag...

Tip: hit return a couple times between the img links, so that they appear one beneath the other- not side by side and take up 3 screens

Looks good so far.

most brushless esc's will put out interference at the 27 and 47mhz range, so there will always be interference. for now though, I would keep your motor wires as short as possible, or at least braid them and tuck them down low so that it isnt in the "line of sight" of the antennas

I'm not 100% sure if this applies, but I would move the motor and power leads away from each other to avoid any "cross-contamination". If you have a large amp spike through the power leads I would think it can effect the current in the motor leads if they are close enough. The AM radio is definitely your biggest problem, as the others said. I say go straight to a 2.4GHz radio. I have FM and 2.4. My FM still glitches at certain points on my street (which I now avoid) but the 2.4 is solid.

+1 with the 2.4...I have the Futaba Fasst and its great I got mine new from tower for about $175. My only complaint is RXs are a bit pricey @ $90 if you want to add other RCs to use the Tx
