Proline 23mm hexes

Hi guys,

Just got a couple of these hexes and man are they huge! I got a couple of questions though...

1. It comes with some shims, but no instructions so does anyone know what these are for?

2. Can it only be tightened using this? http://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/item/PL...el-Wrench__e8/
I dont really wanna pay £20 just for a wrench

cheers guys

what is 20 british pounds in USD about 40? I would just get a 23 mm long socket and use a 3/8" drive or metric equivilent..about 9.5mm..Sears has a good assortment of sockets...do you have them in England?

7/8 socket works..

Just get a regular 22mm socket. A lot cheaper than that.

Only the Dace adapters have a 22mm nut I believe. The Proline is actually a 23mm.

I used a pair of pliers to tighten mine when I had some- you can buy cheap socket sets at DIY stores for a few quid so thats the easiest option.

The shims should go inside the 23mm hex, between it and the nyloc nut that holds it in place. Beware though, as once they are on, they are a bitch to remove without using a fair bit of leverage force.

The shims actually should go between the bearing and the pin to keep slack out.

ok i just bought this wrench: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...d01780fff4c572
wow this thing is huge! it must be for a full size car! The 23mm one fits the proline hex but theres no way the wrench is gonna fit in my toolbox lol, plus its way too heavy. I guess I can just screw the hexes on with pliers...
