I am looking at the 3.0 Spektrum and the 2 models above it...help

Is there a real big difference between the 3.0 and the 3.0r and the 3.0s models. I know that they are different, but, are they worth it for someone who bashes and races v/little?

If you are just a basher with some racing just get the regular 3.0. I had one and they are great. I just recently got the 3s and I do like the feel and look of the radio better than the 3.0. However you really have to ask yourself if you are going to use all the features on it such as the telemetry and stuff. The 3r is designed more for racers. Check Ebay for some good prices.

True...the 3.0 is probably enough...thanks for the advice!

I have the 3.0 and I love it! I just use it for bashing

I loved my 3.0. I opted to get the 3r simply for the nicer display, more control over features, simpler menu interface, the 40 model memory, and lighter weight/smaller size.

I agree. The feel to me on the 3s is much better than my 3.0 was. At least in my hand. Its real grippy.

3.0 is three channel but only 2 pos with 4 car mem
3s is same with telem and better screen with 10car mem
3r is dsm2 with three channel and 3 pos with 40 car mem

3s feels really cheap

You really think it feels cheap? What about it? Just curious. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

One that springs to mind is channel mixing; it's hard to explain, but you can mix any of the channels in so many ways using all the adjustments. The 3.0 was lacking some of the finer points. Sorry I can't elaborate further, it's been a while since I used both side by side to compare, but I do remember that in particular when I was messing around mixing CH3 brakes on my GTP (v1). Maybe it's just the menu system that makes things seem more readily accessible.

From what you said above, I will probably never use. I have mixing on my Futaba FM and it is a PITA to set up...so , I don't even bother w/it

I know there are more features, but it's been too long since I used the 3.0 to be sure.

The screen on the 3s is much easier to navigate and more advanced than the 3.0. Also I like the push button bind with the bind plug. I also like how much lighter it is than the 3.0. It only takes 4 AA's instead of 8. I guess the big thing that sold me on it was the look to start with.
