Slash 32 pitch

So I got my 32 pitch pinions today and mounted up the 19t with my 52T E Revo spur and the gear cover will fit but not well and it is binding up inside. Now what?

I could never get the gear cover back on, even with the smaller jato spurs, 54,56,58 tooth.

To be honest it really does not matter, as the 32p can handle sand and dirt much better than 48p. I just ran without the cover and never had an issue.

Makes sense. The Revo's never had anything covering up the gears now that I think about it.

what is needed to make my rustler vxl have 32 pitch gears? i have gone through at least 30 spur gears so far.

Just swap the spur for a Mod0.8 spur from Traxxas and then use a Mod0.8 pinion in either 1/8" bore or 5mm bore to suit your motor.

And if Mod0.8 pinions are difficult to come by, you can use 32p pinions. They are so close it does not make a difference...

FWIW, the Robinson Racing 5mm bore pinions are marketed specifically as Mod0.8.

Yeah, there is a difference, but VERY slight. Mod0.8 is actually 31.75p, or 32p is Mod0.7938

Robinson Racing's 1/8" bore are 32P and their 5mm bore are Mod0.8. All of the Traxxas spurs are Mod0.8, so to me, it makes sense to run the Mod0.8 and either a 5mm shaft motor or a bore reducer. Besides, the 5mm bore Mod0.8 pinions are a bit wider than the 1/8" bore 32P.
