Josh's BL edition revo setup

3 Attachment(s)
well it started as the brushless edition revo, he wanted a better racing setup so we ditched the castle nue 1515 in favor of a tekno neu 1512 3d 1700kv motor, it will run off a pair of 6s 2500 RC-M lipos in paralell for 6s 5000, tekno swaybars will be installed, along with zero offset bowfighters or holeshots, we are using the monster's setup as a starting point for dailing it in.

i finished the install of the new motor, hid the wires, and made a new dean "T" with the wires snaked under the rear shock mount, the lipo wires will be shortened to where they barely plug in and fit in the tray for some very neat and tight wiring.

this truck makes me want one sooo bad.

nice looking truck! I can't wait till I finish my Revo conversion

How exactly do you plan to fit a 35mm tall pack in a 30mm tall opening?

rootar 03.19.2009 11:04 PM

they are 30mm high, they use 6 of mike 2500 "super" cells each, which fit perfectly into the erevo compartments in any of the following configurations, 3s2p 5000, 2s3p 7500, or 6s 2500, all of which use 6 total cells.

rootar 03.19.2009 11:09 PM

btw we also choose the 6s 2500s over the two 3s2p in series due to the fact that he will be also running a single 6s 2500 in his mp9 with a 1512 3.5d 1500kv motor, so he'll have 4 matching lipos, all that will work in both his revo or his mp9.

Then his description for his 6S 2500's is wrong. They're listed at 35mm tall and the 5S is listed at 29mm tall.

rootar 03.19.2009 11:35 PM

yea, they are wrong i guess, mike told me they fit in his, plus ive seen pics someone posted of the 5s 2500 and they are smaller than 29mm by a good bit, they are actaully a tiny bit smaller than a 2s 5000 hardcase..... which are usually 25mm

rootar 03.19.2009 11:39 PM

i guess ill find out tomorrow morning when i go pick them up but he knew what these were for and said they fit in his, in the 3s2p 5000 configuration, and the 6s1p 2500 is the same battery only wired different

skellyo 03.19.2009 11:41 PM

Hmm, he should probably update his specs then. A lot of people could overlook them thinking they're too big for an E-Revo.

I didn't know he ran a standard E-Revo, but I know he has a G3R.

Very nice truck. Have you done anything to lighten it? LPR tires?

slimthelineman 03.19.2009 11:48 PM

a little off topic but any opinions on using his 6s 2500 with a 1512 3d in an rc8?

rootar 03.20.2009 12:15 AM

yea itll have lprs thats all we run. As far as doing anything else no, we havent even driven the truck yet.

I dunno sean ??? mike said these would work, i know he has a standard revo there somewhere im sure he has tried his packs in.

rootar 03.20.2009 12:20 AM

ok sean i found agood way to prove these will fit. i have a 5s2p 5000 pack here, it uses the same cells. It is 50.5mm thick so the cells are 5mm thick each so a 6s would be 30.5mm thick which will fit.

thats exactly what we were gonna run with his mp9 but we were kinda limited with the gearing (12t would get us 40) so we bumped down to the next lowest kv to give us the better gearing choices on some of the smaller tighter tracks. i think the 3d is perfect on 5s in a buggy but with the MT 6s is welcome to boost the rpms up there and puts us in a better gear range and the extra rpm geared down helps with the heavier/larger tires. (20t will get us almost 40)
