Tekno 17mm Kit vs Traxxas
Ok all, what would you get? The Traxxas 17mm hubs to go on stock axles (I actually have the titanium ones but they are same design as stock).
Or, the Tekno Hub kit which includes 17mm adapters, 8mm axle, and new carriers with over-sized bearings. The Tekno kit is 80 bucks + shipping for all 4 corners while the Traxxas one's I can get for about 10 bucks. |
Well, you could replace the Traxxas one 8 times but, the Tekno one is probably stronger.....so....I would go w/the Tekno one on the premise that do it once right and forget about it

i'd go with the traxxas ones and if they break, then get the tekno ones.
i'm sure there will be no problems with the traxxas ones, as long as you don't run 6-8s lipo lol. |
I'll be running 6S lipo periodically. 5S for the most part. All on a Lehner 1940/7.

Tekno makes great products for sure, however, for a 70 dollar difference and seeing the TRX ones are so cheap, my vote goes TRX. If the TRX ones don't work out, your only out 10 bucks. I would spend the extra cash saved elsewhere like sway bars and the like to improve handling.
I have never had an issue running the TRX 6mm axles on 6s either. I now have proline 23mm hubs with beadlock rims and 40 series dirt hawgs and haven't had an issue yet. |
I voted traxxas due to the fact I think most should be running the RPM true tracks in the rear and you can't run the tekno's w/ the true tracks :) The tekno's up front would be fine, but why bother when you buy a set of the traxxas and they work just as well :)
