My Losi 8ight Conversion

Well im new to the 1/8th Buggies but I figured Id give it a go. They look like a blast.

Traded some stuff for this buggy and got a pretty good deal on it. I traded 4 nimh 6 cell stick packs, a Losi Micro DT and $100. I got a Losi 8ight in great condition with about all the m2c upgrades, 4 painted bodies, 4.5 sets of tires, spare parts with sprins sway bars, a esc mount with fan, RC-Monster motor mount, and BRAND NEW Polyquest/Enerland 4 cell 6000 lipo. Dont think I got hurt to bad there. lol

Well anywho I ordered a MMM 2200 system the other day and it will be in next Thursday. Also will be picking up a Losi conversion kit. Then just need a servo and receiver and I will be racing. Wooo. I will keep this thread updated as I get parts/work done.

Sick deal! Congrats on coming over to the "Clean Side" of 8th scale.

Ive been on the side to stay for a while now. I had a few nitros in the past and dont really like them. Just to much of a hassle tuning them and cleaning them all the time. Electric is a little more expensive to get into but it has so many more pluses. You can make some sick power with electrics. Im here to stay.

Just picked up a AstroFlight 109 Lipo charger today for a good deal. Getting closer just need some more money. lol

Got everything and put it together and ram 2 packs through it. One word nasssssty. I love it. Now I jsut need a good servo and Ill be set for some racing. I extended the switch wires and put the switch in the stock location. Looks clean. Got a question though. Im using the Losi motor mount and when the motor is mounted the wires coming out of the motor are pointing straight up and you have to mash the body down on the to get it on. If you rotate the motor to the other set of holes then they hit the driveshaft. Is there anyway to loosen the 3 screws and rotate the end plate to change the position of the wires? I need to get a 8e body for more clearance. It may be fine with it.

Undo the 3 screws and rotate around, it gives you another set of mounting ideas, that's exactly what I did to fit my truggy, just remember to put some Locktite in there when you close.

Buggy looks the business ;) Nice!!!!

Been running the heck out of it and aint broke but 2 thing. A steering rod end when it came down HARD on one of the front tires when doing front flips. And yesterday I was jumping it pretty good and somehow it bent the rear center CVD and threw it out. Also chewed up the plastic spur. I ground some more on the chassis so it would clear the metal 48t spur. I like the gearing better, doesnt run as hot, doesnt make much more noise then with the plastic, and I dont have to worry about chewing it up. lol.

I had to get rid of all those other bodies cause they wouldnt clear the battery so I picked up a 8ight-E body last nite and got it on today.

For close up pics use the macro setting on your camera. Most cameras have it and It's the picture of the flower. It makes a world of difference... Some of the pics it looks like you have it on and some it looks like you don't...

Looks great! Looks like you did your research and I like all the bodies you got.

I do good enough to jsut turn it on and use it. Ill have to look into the macro deal. I just pointed it at it and clicked the button on all those didnt change anything.

I actually had to sell off all the other bodies. They wouldnt clear the battery so I sold them and bought me another receiver and the 8ight-E body on it now.
