CAD Software

Any recommendations? I'd like something free to do some 2D mock-ups.

I need to be able to export to DXF?

Thanks

What do you mean 2d mock ups - for what? Do you plan on modeling anything in 3d? Tell me a little more about what you're doing and hopefully I can help.

You can export from emachineshop. Certainly not a powerful CAD, but easy to use.

DXF is a AutoDesk file type. AutoCAD LT is a basic version that is capable of 2d drawings. I don't think that you can do 3d in LT and I think it costs about $700.

Autodesk's autocad.

you can d/l autocad on limewire, if someone were so inclined I would wager the cd keys and authorization codes would be there too.

Too bad the new AutoCAD has 2 seats per licence. I don't think that it would work.

If you get the 2000 it works, I dont know if you can do all the stuff you want to with it like the newer ones.

pro Desktop (pro D) isnt too complicated to use, and it is fairly easy to find too

Metallover 03.29.2009 09:24 PM

What about the free one from google? Sketchup?

I just remembered my it teacher in 8th grade gave me a version of pro desktop. I should start using that....

sketchup is a 3d program and doesnt export to dxf, or anything other than its own file type
