i bought this charger and it works great but thinking of how long it takes my hyperion lba10 to balance a 5 s pack after balance charging makes me wonder if there is a better way or if i should look into a new charger. it says to balance the packs before charging then put on the charger, but i have always just charged it thru the balancer and when it was done i turned off the charger and l changed the setting on the balancer to stand alone, but sometimes the balancer will balance them within minutes other times hours but thinking if its balancing during charges then it should be pretty close by the time its complete so why so long to balance sometimes, does anyone use this charger, its a great charger but lacks a built in balance function, maybe a different charger would be a better option? i had lincpimp rebuild the battery for me and took about the same time to balance the pack as before after a run but it just seemes like an awful long time to balance and i know the balancer doesnt put a big drain on the battery while balancing and i know there are options to do that but dont know how it all works. or am i over exaggerating and just use the packs after charge is complete and dont worry about it being perfectly balanced as it is close enough at that point as my voltage cutoff is at 3.2v

I use that charger with a flightpower charge through balancer (and others) and have no problems. What brand are your batteries? I have some Batts that the manufacturer say to only balance after fully charged. If your packs are way out of balance, try charging at 1A to bring back in line. Also, not running them completely to lvc can help keep them balanced as well.
