temps on the castle erbe motor
so ive got this motor this week and i run it on 6 cell lipo geared 18/68
after 28 minute of street speed pass and drift on the dirt my motor reach 134 at 41f outside...i want to know the average temps of guy,s who run this motor on 6 cell???? my timing is lowest,50% punch |
Those temps are decent...especially for 28 minutes of speed passes. Speed passes heat up the motor quick. The fact it was in 41* weather though is what worries me. Once the ambient temp gets to like 70 your motor will not be cooled off so much. I would tweak the gearing slightly to see if you can get your temp to go down a little.
What is your ESC temp? If it is super cool then you are likely undergeared and should gear up (larger pinion/smaller spur). If your ESC is rather hot then you are overgeared and should gear down (smaller pinion/larger spur). I think as a reference just use your ESC temp vs motor temp. If ESC temp > motor temp = overgeared. If Motor temp > ESC temp = undergeared. If your ESC and motor are around the same (and are decent temps, like 120 or so) then your gearing is dead on. |
thanks bp-revo...i used a mmmv3 and the unit never pass 118f during the run...
