Tiger Drive system
 

Anyone heard of the Tiger Drive from Sullivan Products ? It replaces your pullstart with a gear type setup that uses a drill and a hex drive to start your engine.

Well I contacted them to see if they made one for my Novarossi .21. They said that they are not showing that they do but if I send the engine to them, they would see if they could make one for it and they would give it to me for free!

Well the guy called me today and said they couldn't make one because that engine did not originally come with a pull start (I used the bump box to start it) and it would have cost them alot of money to convert it over so it would accept the Tiger Drive.

So he proceeds to ask me if I have any other engines with a pull start and I tell him about my RB .28. He says "great, we make one for that engine so I will send you one for that free of charge."

Just thought I would share my great news with you guys and what a great company that is. Really nice people too.
I'll let you know how it works when I get it installed also.

Cool!! I heard those were really strong! better than breaking pull start cords and breaking oneways from a roto start.

So if you have an engine that they havent got a tiger drive for, if you send them the engine they must give it to you for free for helping them out, :) sounds cool!

I had a Tiger Drive on my RC10GT .15 a couple years ago. It worked great.
I bought a $15 6v Black&Decker cordless drill to use with it. It didn't spin fast, but that drill spun fast enough to start my RC10GT .15 and my MGT Mach .26 with no problems.

I have one for an OS .12cvx and didn't like it it dragged the motor down worse than the pullstart did

I believe all of the TigerDrives use the stock one-way, so it will have an effect similar to the pull-start.
I used my RC10GT for bashing only, so I didn't care about a small power loss.

Yah I don't care much about a little power loss. I don't think the .28 engine will either.:L:
