What is your favorite upgrade for crt.5

Well i was wondering what is the single best upgrade you guys can think of.

As i have some extra cash laying around to do something to my crt.5.

I do have rc8 front shocks coming in for the rear of the car.

What else do you guys suggest.

I was thinking of the titanium turnbuckles or something.
Or the cnc knuckles or rear uprights.

I keep breaking the factory plastic shock caps where the mount is.

And rear lower arms. Dont think i am ready for the aluiminum conversion just yet.

What is your setup? A good lipo is a great upgrade...

boostedg60rado 04.07.2009 10:28 PM

Got the lipo alreqdy I run a maxamps pack and a smc pack I run a mamba max 5700 combo. I am thinking more on the lines of a upgrade for strengh

Arct1k 04.07.2009 10:29 PM

It is an extended chassis with RCBros conversion with a 2s SS Maxamps 4200 battery...

Get the medusa 50mm as the 5700 won't last long... You'll be fine...

boostedg60rado 04.07.2009 10:32 PM

Already ordered that Chris what else should I do.

Arct1k 04.07.2009 10:33 PM

Drive it! When the tires are busted look at some 2.2 truck or proline 30's...

I just upgraded all the turnbuckles to titanium - cost only 20 or so...

Finnster 04.07.2009 10:44 PM

The only real upgrade I did was the cnc chassis braces. I actually bent the chassis once hard enough that it bent the plastic brace and the rear driveshaft.

The BB shocks are a must tho for so many reasons.

nitrohouse.com has crt.5 parts cheap

Metallover 04.07.2009 11:02 PM

The proline gladiator 2.2 truck tires are a good choice for the crt .5. The m2 compound is harder... Plan on gearing down a couple teeth due to the larger diameter. But with the addition of the medusa motor, you may not have to gear down any more.

thanks guys.

As of right now i am running a street setup to learn the car.

Which are proline dirt hawgs, On stock wheels. Handles great and sticks like glue.

Get the revo shocks with Jato Springs and pistons for the front...

I saw you had front buggy shocks for rear

boostedg60rado 04.08.2009 08:07 AM

Yea I remember you saying that will have to look into it.

IMO, a Medusa 36-50-3300 and 3s lipo would be the best upgrade. Then, just upgrade the parts that break or under lots of stress.

snellemin 04.08.2009 10:22 AM

For onroad use and parkinglot races, I made some foam tires.

boostedg60rado 04.08.2009 04:41 PM

Well most of its time will be spent on the dirt track but for learning the car i like messing around on ashpalt. To learn what it can and cant do.
