Fastrax/GPM Alloy parts any good?

Hi, I've just been offered an Emaxx as a roller for about $270. I was hoping if you guys could tell me if i'd be getting a good deal or not, and if the parts it has fitted are any good.

Basically, the whole thing is made of alloy. All the part are Fastrax, which I believe is rebranded GPM parts. The chassis is designed for upto 24 cells, I think its the original width not widemaxx. The diff housings, bulkheads, shock towers, arms, hubs, steering, everything is alloy. I'm not so sure this is a good thing but hey thats why I'm asking here :)

Its had very minimal use, I only to use it for only hard bashing - no real racing, so does this sound like a good deal, or should I bide my time and get one based on a different chassis?

And yet another..(the price does not include these wheels or the shell)

For that price, it is a fair deal, but GPM is not known for it's strength.

Thats what I'm concerned about..I can see myself ripping out half that alloy and replacing it with RPM arms, towers, bodyposts etc. But, in the UK, the price is good - a standard emaxx roller goes for only £40 or so less.

This is the chassis it has fitted..reckon it will hold up to abuse or is it just for "bling"?

For the money hes asking its a pretty good deal, you could always sell of all that junky aluminum and get yourself some real r/c parts!

it looks to be the narrow version. If that is the case It is not worth as much. JMO

It was originally built for a magazine yes. I've decided to instead bide my time till I either find a better one, or go for an E-zilla.

Only bling, GPM/Fastrax is heavy and soft but for $270 it's alright.

Thats the thing though, I don't like settling for "alright" kit, when much better stuff exists :)

Out of curiosity, how hard would it be, to use a flat or twin plate chassis with an Emaxx? Because I like making lexan parts, and have some 6mm lexan that would be great for a big chassis.

Thanks for your input guys.

it's really a more trash for less cash kinda thing...
