Questions On Electric Truggy

I was at the track yesterday and after driving my trucks on the track and then a truggy I am hooked, I want a truggy bad.. I want electric though,Since everybody there thinks nitro is the best and we all know it isn't..
So now im thinking of maybe a 8ight running a MMM and a medusa.. Probably a 80 series? Not sure.. Also I was thinking about running 5s.. I have a 3s 5000mah battery and thought a 2s 5000mah could be joined in for a series, for cheap. I have radio gear so thats not a worry.. I do have a budget and was just wondering if all of this can be had for around 450-500, I would like to stay around there.
Just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Well, a MMM and medusa 80mm will cost around 300 bucks. You can get the MMM 2200 combos for around 250 if you look carefully. So then you have about 250 to get the truggy and the 2s lipo. Can you do it for that? I could but I have some sort of god-like searching skills (second only to arkt1c) and I am cheap...

I think it could be done for under 600 bucks easily...

+1 for the MMM 2200 combo. really nice setup.

What are the ratings on your lipos?

Yea I guess I could just keep an eye out for some good deals..
There 3s 5000mah 30c Zippys...

If you look carefully enough, you'll find a Truggy for 100 bucks sometime. (Used of course, but it doesn't mean it's bad)
Then you could buy like Linc said a MMM 2200kv combo, and run on your 5S/buy Zippy's

Or you could do this:
Buy a new truggy, sell the nitro stuff. Buy a supersimple ESC from hobbycity + some cheap motor + your 5S LiPo or some cheap Zippys.

Or:
Used truggy (100$), Supersimple 100A ESC (30$), Cheap brushless motor (50$), your own radio, own 5S LiPo.

As you see the last one is the cheapest

you can get a 8ight-t 1.0 roller for 450 at https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...ns&pn=LOSA0802 [/URL] idk if you would want the 1.0 or 2.0, but both are great cars. the 1.0 will be cheaper, but if you do want it then youll have to be fast about it b/c losi has stopped making it. and alot of people in the truggy forum use mmm's so that shouldnt be a problem:yes: i highly recomend the 8ight-t itll be a great a choice:mdr:

Wild YFZ 450 04.20.2009 05:24 PM

Well I found a MMM combo for 250, I also found a roller for 220... So now I need a Motor mount, Pinion ( What tooth?, Not sure on the spur probably stock), Battery box? Or just velcro it down on the chassis, I also need a cheap servo.
Well wich mount is for the 8ight-t this?

I can't find a 2s 5000mah lipo... this sucks, There is one Zippy but its out of stock.

jhautz 04.20.2009 08:06 PM

You cant just go buy any old 5000 2s lipo. it needs to be the same as the 3s lipo you plan to run it with. Mixing and matching packs like that is certain disaster.
