there boat esc's, meaning that they wont calabrate to a pistol radio.... I think...

turnigy=tenergy??

Constant Current: 80A
Burst Current: 180A
Resistance: .0007ohm
Battery: 5-12S Lipoly
*BEC: Nil
Motor Type: Sensorless Brushless
Size: 94 x 33 x 18mm
Weight: 81g

1) Marine ESC. Read as: "Unless you water-cool it it will overheat."

2) The Sentilon is an AWESOME ESC if you have mechanical brakes.

3) If the lack of a BEC is the only problem, what's the problem?

Dont see whats funny, using an external ubec or Rx pack reduces space and heat on the esc. Thats a GOOD thing!

Didnt realize the sentilon doesnt have brakes... that sucks it seemed like a keeper. Even with a fan the marine controllers overheat??

brushlessboy16 04.20.2009 10:18 PM

Using an externam BEC is besides the point on a marine esc.. as you can see it has no heatsink and will overheat as stated.

Joey 04.20.2009 10:21 PM

Oh no heatsink... duh didnt catch that. You could always add one, wouldnt be hard to do with a thermal pad and small HS. Definitely worth it.

whitrzac 04.20.2009 10:29 PM

its just how they worded it...

so will it calibrate to a pistol radio??

Joey 04.20.2009 10:36 PM

NIL! Idk if it'll calibrate, why do some controllers have trouble with pistol grips?

Not without a pistix adapter.

its not worth tryig to remove the water cooling plate from the esc and install your own.. just get a mamba max and mod it. same results with better parts support.

I suppose you could flood the cooling tubes with thermal paste and then add a heatsink to the top of them... It's not the *best* solution but it would work if there is a flat surface under the heatshrink.

IDK, but I might pick up one of those hextronic things, I'v got a nasy habit of frying esc's before I race:oops:

I thought people were getting these to calibrate with pistol radios. Just gotta go through the steps........ I'm going to search.....

Well, it was a nice thought! I cant tell if the hextronics has a heatsink..?

What's_nitro? 04.20.2009 11:08 PM

The HexTronik has a heatsink. It's that thin aluminum plate held on by the heatshrink...

_paralyzed_ 04.20.2009 11:19 PM

DOES NOT NEED PISTIX

shame on you, Ben for writing untruths
