5S for Neu 1515 3d

Hello I want to run my neu 1515 3d on my e-maxx on 5s, can i do it??? or it is low voltage?
Regards

PD: a 3000mha 20c 5s battery for 1/8 buggy with medusa 2000kv 60mm have enought discarge?

~25,000 rpms is abit low for my liking, I run in the 35,000rpm region and have great results (2000kv & 5s).

3000mah x 20c = 60amps, thats not enough current to push a 1/8 scale reliably, you need more like 80-100amps (5000mah 20c for example).

More/ better opinions will surely follow....

^ +1.

The minimum voltage I would use on that motor (kv=1360) is 6s, and up to 8s. 7s would be the sweet spot, but that's an odd configuration for lipo packs.

OK, I have just buy a neu 1515 2.5d 1650kv it is good choice for 5s???

I have a question on Neu.
Which motors are for streetcars/buggys and how many cells can they handle??

nitrostarter 04.27.2009 02:20 PM

Applications vary, but heres a loose classification:
1515's are generally for truggys and MT's
1512's are for 1/8 buggies
1509's are for 1/10th's

And as far as cell counts, it all depends on which motor you are looking for.

Well I'm looking for a car motor 1509 according to what you informed me. I'm looking for one that can handle as many calls as possible at least 12 cells/14.4v. Do they exist??

nitrostarter 04.27.2009 02:52 PM

What car are you looking to power?

What you need is a large call centre with lots of operators...

Seriously though, we need to know the specifics of your intended setup in order to suggest a specific motor- you can get a motor that could handle 18 or 24 nimh (boo) cells, but without knowing what its going into and how heavy it will + how fast you are trying to go over what terrain, random suggestions arent going to help.

Mo info please....

the 2.5 is an excellent choice for the MT on 5s, I think the 3d would have done good as well, if you could have got a big enough pinion on it

T-Bro 04.29.2009 07:03 AM

CALLS??? My bad lol.
Ok well I have the schulze U-Force speed controller in my tc-3. The car is carbon fiber so it's a pretty decent weight. (I have pics of it in my albums).
I just want a fast/powerful car motor mainly for top speeds/drag racing on a smooth surface that can match the controller (12 cells/4s) or more...

suicideneil 04.29.2009 11:33 PM

Who does drag racing around here, as they'd be the guys to talk to (didnt say I'd be any use, just said we need more info  )...

T-Bro 05.03.2009 07:28 PM

Well I just bought my 1st NEU motor a 1509 version. Here's my only question. How can I use it in my electric tc3 when the shaft is 5MM? I can't find a 5MM 48p pinion gear anywhere!! lol. Well I did find 1 online store but they where all sold out...
