Shortening or lengthening wire on Neu/Castle 2200kV motor...is it ok?
 

My ESC was mounted to the top of my transmission in my Revo (nitro conversion), and when the truck flipped over and slid down the road, it ground through all three motor wires...is it OK to remove the bad section of wire and solder the two ends of each wire back together?

Also, I would like to move the ESC to a custom carbon-fiber tray I built, but the motor wires are about an inch too short...is it OK to lengthen the wires by about an inch or so?

You can shorten the wires, and you can lengthen them too. Try to keep them as short as possible (good rule of thumb about any rc wires, save for the antenna), and you may want to braid them to help with support and rf interference. Also try to support the wires with a stand or ziptie so that they cannot move around, as that can cause solder joints to break.

I just received my CC-Neu 2200 from Mike (very fast shipping!) and find the 3 wires on the motor *very* long. I know some wires cannot easily be cut and re-soldered.

A year later, is that advice still good?

Castle/Nue motors are not the same as "real" Nue motors. Castle's motors are set up where the coil wires are attached to "noodle" wires inside the motor. So you can cut the wires down to whatever you need. On real Nue motors, the motor wires are just extensions of the coil wires, so you can't easily shorten them without special consideration.
