Dig Camera Help
I have a Canon Digital Rebel
Does anybody know how to make the pictures smaller without buying a special SW |
Hmm... Is the problem memory space or size on a computer? What are you currently doing to upload the pictures?
|
You mean resize them? Any graphics program will work. PhotoShop (expensive), Paint Shop Pro (my personal favorite and ~$90), and Gimp (free).
|
I have been downloading the pics using the Windows software and even with the lowest setting it is still pretty big....1936x1288.....Brian I did download Gimp I will give it a try
|
Any app that comes with Windows won't be the best. A 3rd party software will most likely be tons better. From what I remember, Gimp works well, but there is a learning curve to using the program.
If you just need a few pics resized and compressed for a smaller file size, you can email them to me and I can help you out. Just tell me the dimensions and the max file size you want (the larger the file, the better they look). PM me if interested. |
if you upload 'em to photobucket or other image site, they normally have options for resizing them. Also, the easiest application I have found for resizing and other editing is the free Kodak EasyShare Software found here http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...requestid=3082
and Picasa 3 found here http://picasa.google.com although I have not personally tried Picassa |
If you're running XP, you can use the Image Resizer application from Microsoft. It's free, works like a champ, and you can do them in batches directly from Windows Explorer.

I am running Vista

This one works great for Vista and it's free as well.
|
I use picture manager out of the Office Suite most of the time...
