Need help picking out a bl set up.
 

Hi all. I am currently looking into buying a new brushless set. I am currently running a ss5800 system in my losi mf1. I will be runnig with a 8000mah 7.4v lipo battery. Should I go with a sensorless or sensored system. I will be doing mains that are 10 min long. If PAPA see's this he will know what track I am racing on. I am looking for more rpm and torque. I have a buget of around $200.00.

Hi! I raced my losi in mod trck. I finished 7th in the mod truck d-main. Thats when I really wanted some more power!LOL. I can really use some help on this. I don't know much at all about sensorless motors.

Sensorless systems sometimes cogg, but the sensored do not cogg that much and is smoother than the sensorless. If you want to upgrade from the ss5800 to something faster, you have a very big selection of systems that can serve your need. The best of the sensored ( in my opinion atleast) is the Reedy NeoOne coupled with either a LRP Sphere or Novak GTB esc. If you want a sensorless system, a 8s wanderer with 8 cells and a 9920 is a good investment.

I am only going to be using a 2 cell lipo. I was thinking about getting the gtb and a neo motor. The novak 5.5 and 6.5 have to much power for almost any offroad track.

What where the fast guys running? My thought is that you will want to stick with the lipo pack that you have. I am leaning towardsthe Lehener basic 5300, or Bk wanderer 6s.

I was only allowed to run sud-c packs there. I am going to buy the 8000mah so I am able to do 20min mains with the gas trucks. Is there any way you can give me a link for those? What knid of rpm can I get with 7.4v? I have heard alot of people using the basic 5300 to bash with but not race.

Both motors are about 5300 rpm/v, so right abot 39000 rpm

If you feel like thats to High KV the Wanderer S series has numerous turn options. The Lehner you may back off to the 4200.

But then again you may want to wait for a few of the veterans here to chime in and see what they have to say.;)

Thanks for the links. I am not buying anything right now. I am trying to figure out what the best thing is for what I am doing. Are those wnaderer motors 380 size?

The Wanderers are 540 size. But, there are 380 size Feigaos that have a built-in heatsink and mount where a 540 motor would. The advantage of these is that they are light, more powerful than a brushed 540, spool up faster than a brushless 540, and just look cool. These motors are very much suited to 1/10 vehicles, and are great for racing because of their power and low weight.

What about heat though? Won't they get warmer the 540 sized motors because of the load of a 1/10 car? What kind of kv can I get from the and what kind of voltage can you put in them? Also If I got a 380 size motor what kind of esc would I have to get for it? Would I need something thats rated for atleast 100 amps?

I think I am just going to get the gtb and a neo motor, because I need a system that is ifmar and roar legal.

Good choice for a racer. These things were made for pure racing with the big names in the off and on road races. Good luck, Pepsi...I mean Cola.

why would the 5.5 and 6.5 be to powerful? i would image that almost any sensorless system would be far more powerful.
