LRP S8 conversion, whats setting?

i want to convert a S8 buggy.
i havel a mm and 2 zippy-r 3s.
what motor will works fine with this items?
perhaps i sell the mm and get a castle combo 2650. will this run good on 3s?

any ideas?

The mm can't really handle more than 4s, so you can't have those batteries in series (6s) with it.

A 1/8 buggy needs at least 4s to have decent performance. To attain the same speed with 3s, the system would draw too much current and things would become hot fast, so those batteries in parallel (3s2p) is not an option either.

MMM 2650 is not meant to be used with 6s.

Basically, you need to get the MMM 2200 to use 6s. The buggy would be crazy with this setup; reaching 60mph is easy and acceleration would be almost uncontrollable. It'll be fun.

Hope this helps.

i thought about to use 3s in buggy.
will the combo 2650 draw to much amperes at 3s in a buggy?

Depends how fast you want to go.

For example, my buggy on 4s is geared to go 38mph and all the electronics are barely warm. For you to go just as fast (i.e. to dish out roughly the same wattage), you'll need around 33% more amps since you only have 3s.

A 3000+ kv motor would be the best choice for 3s usage. I know Neu make a 3300kv 1512...

ok, i bought a mmm 2650 combo now.
i will give it a try with 3s, and if its not working well i will change to 4s.

can anyboby give a estimation about max amps with the cc 2650 motor on 3s and 4s in a buggy like the s8?

i was wondering if i use my mamba max esc or use the mmm from the combo.

If you are thinking of just getting the motor, you may want to consider a Medusa 36-60 with 3100kv. It is being sold here: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...usa3660&cat=20

It is a bit cheaper than the 2650. The 3100 will spin at 35k and 45k with 3s and 4s, respectively - which are good RPM's

I have the 2200kv on 4s, and it works great: has lots of torque and runs cool.

I run the 2650 combo on 3 and 4s. On 3s geared for 43mph she runs good and strong. Motor gets to about 150 after 13 minutes. On 4s, geared for 43mph, everything runs cooler.

Both run quick and strong!
