anyone have some 17+tooth ones they wana sell?

I have never seen 1/8 bore mod1 pinions for sale?

Most likely due to the material usage and quantity, and the fact that many more 48p pinions are sold so the price is cheaper.

They also are generally made to run against a steel spur and hence need to be hardened...

nitrostarter 05.01.2009 10:36 AM

Exactly, the costs and processes to make them are more costly than standard 48P pinions...

vs what, cheap little 48p pinions?

Many 48p are even alu or cheap steel. I'm sure Mike could make them from cheese, but how long are they going to last? Ever see what a clutchbell costs? Machined hi-grade hardened steel is not cheap.

I'm talking about 32p...

If you look at the description for the 1/8" bore pinion it says "standard alloy" AKA not hardened. The 5mm bore does use more material, but you're mainly paying for the hardened metal which is going to last much longer. If you were wondering why the 5mm looks dirty, that's from the hardening process.
