Post Pictures of your Custom Switch!!!
I put a new toggle one on today, and put it on the cooling fin for the battery compartment (E-Revo.)
Ill post pics tomorrow lets see yours and where you mounted them!! |
|
Thats gonna be a pain if you ever have to remove the mamba.
Mine is just a mini toggle epoxied to the back of the MMM |
maybe i can like put mico bullets on the wires
actually, i can use some mini plugs hmmm |
Here's mine, i have used Deans Micro Plug 2NB.
It looks kinda big in that pic, but in reality its smaller than original... http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_IMG_2953.jpg Only thing is that i accidentaly soldered male plug upside down. |
I just bridged the solder trace on the board. I don't use a switch.

Heres mine http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...PICT0011-2.jpg a bit dirty to say the least. |
I don't have any pictures of just the switch, but I always use a toggle and cut a custom L bracket. Instead of a hole to mount the switch, it's a slot so removal is simply a matter of loosening the nut and sliding it out. If it's a SPDT type, I cut the unused contact and heatshrink the whole switch.
You can make out what I mean in this pic (on the upper plate, by the split loom): http://scriptasylum.com/bl_conversions/images/xt8_5.jpg |
Very nice, is that a crt x2?
|
xt8.
|
Yep. But it does have X2 shocks. I wanted more ground clearance and suspension travel than the stock shocks allowed, and the 808 shock mod wasn't good enough.
|
I hardwired mine on. Why do I need a switch? I have a battery plug.
|
The switch powers the ESC on/off. If off, it won't arm. This means less spark on hook-up since it doesn't have to charge the caps AND beep the motor. Also used for ESC/radio calibration and basic programming. Yeah, that's not a big deal, but it's easier to switch radios (if someone else is bashing with me and need to use my extra DX3.0) and do the binding process by powering up with the switch instead of trying to hold the bind button and connect the batteries. Not a big deal, but it's a reason.
|
I get the same spark no matter what the orientation of the switch when i plug in.
its funny watching the nitro guys jump back when your car sparks :) |
Really? Both of mine makes less spark when off (v3's). I thought it was odd until I assumed it was because of the lesser load of no motor beeping...
