I will be traveling for the RCX show in Pomona, California and will not be available for email contact from Wednesday, April 15th through Thursday April 22nd. Orders will process and ship as usual, and emails related to orders that have been placed will be attended to, but setup and similar emails will be answered when I return. Thanks as always for choosing RC-Monster and if you are in the area for the RCX show, please stop in and say hello.

The xb808 3-piece electric motor mount came in stock, and i will be getting my buggy closer to completion. beside the mount, i need to mount the battery tray, and put the electric on, and also paint the body,

what kind of simple paint job should it put on it?.

i know this is a little off topic, but close, has any one noticed that the diff cases on an xb808 start stretching, it caused a chain reaction, like so- the case stretched and then the bearing has more room to move, which the conical gear and the pinion start stripping...
i very dislike the some of the design of this buggy. the flaws i see are:

-13x19, and 8x14 bearing failure a least 1 every 2 months
-the diff case stretch because they are thin...
-the rear of the buggy love to steer for you

but other than that it is a great car.

How much maintenance you do on your car? I didn't have a signel DNF during the summer season. The car didn't broke once so that I had to retire. All finishes in top 3. You can't do it with other than Xray ;)

I think I went through 1 new bulkhead for both front and rear. I cleaned and relubed the 13x19 bearings before each race. Replaced them after 2-3 races in the rear. I've had one failure in rear but did notice it only after the A-main finish and second place.

No 8x14x4 failures for me either. But then again, I did clean and relube them also before each raceday.

So in the end it is up to how much maintenence you do and in which conditions you drive! If you care about your racing results you have to do some maintenence. And if you do then the bearings won't fail!

BTW... my diff pinion and crown gears are 1.5 years old - just when the 808 came out and don't see any reason for replacing them even now!

Maybe you've shimmed the diff too tight or loose? I have one 0.1 (I think) shim to tighten the diff. When bulkheads are in OK condition it is usually ok... but you have to check!

XB808 rocks and I've already ordered the 2010 version ;) The 2010 has new bulkheads with 13x20 bearings so hopefully you won't get any failures from them anymore.

i see what your saying, the more maintance the less chance for things to fail, but xray is top-notch quality parts, the bearings shouldn't be failing as often, but i replace them about every few months, that's probably why,
i can't wait till the larger diameter bearings come out, and the longer chassis, that will fix alot of handling issues,i had to put two active diffs and alot of setup, just for it to handle good, with a not aggressive driver,i drive it calm and a good amount of control, i try to limit the flip overs and crashes as much as possible,

thanks for the input.
