handling problem , help needed.

hey guys, i am getting closer to getting my emaxx to handle better on the track but its still off.

1st i have the following:
kershaw lcg chassis
mmm 2200 combo
4s 5000 40c lipos
traxxas response tires
traxxas center diff with factory oil (100 or 500k ?? )
front and rear diffs with 60k
proline power strokes with 60wt
tranny is moved forward as well as the packs

problem:
center diff wants to unload and im loosing acceleration.
i have the punch on 70% and a slight curve in the throttle profile set on the esc.
the wheelbase is 13 1/2 long.

if the center diff comes with 500k i cant go any higher with diff fluid...putting the spool back in would just make it a wheely machine and i dont want that either.

im thinking of playing with the shock oil and or the front and rear diffs but iam up in the air on what to actually do to help the problem.

any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks !

Am new to forum, but need to know what you find out. Have the 3905 maxx and am getting ready to put the center spool in with 500, and replace the front and rear with 120 and 100. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

i race, so i guess it depends on what you are gonna do with your truck.

Twisted8 - race at CRC?

Put 100k fluid in the center diff. That should help with the front unloading. It will not completely lock the diff, so turning should still be better over the solid center. The traxxas diffs only have 2 spiders, so you have to use thicker fluid than you would on an 1/8 buggy/truggy.

i thought it came from the factory with 500k ? it has what ever it came with in it.

yup. truck clean yet ? no one in cny has an rpm arm. i called walts and they said no but many times they have been wrong. i had to order one off line.

i drove my buddies e revo today too, sure you dont want to get rid of yours

I had my truck clean before I left! Took the esc and receiver off, then hosed it off then went to the compressor and dried it. I had to order a steering bushing and screw kit for it, that's why my cvd popped in the main.

I have though about getting rid of the E-revo but I still need a basher! I want to keep the truggy good for racing, last thing I want to do is break it on tuesday knowing any part I need is at least a 3-4 day wait

they dont make 1000k and if they did it would be a solid.

twisted8 05.13.2009 02:12 AM

a little update....

i had 60 wt oil all around. i went to 60 in front and 70 in rear 45mm ride height at skid plates. the truck pulled more wheelies this way. so i am go0nna try heavier oil in the front shocks and lighter in the rear and see how that works..

stay tuned.
