Are the hobbwing motors any good?

I was wondering around on himodel and saw the HW80 esc and motor combos. Looks like they have a L can sized 2300kv motor and a xl sized 2350 motor. Are they worth a crap, or just another feigao clone? I like the mounted fan, very anti-BrianG!!!!

they don't run hot, but people have had problems with the rotors self destructing.

Which one of your many vehicles are you looking to power?

I was just wondering if they were worth a crap... Looking at the fact they have an integrated fan mount would lead me to believe that they are not the most efficient motors on the planet. I doubt that I would buy the HW80 and motor combo, as cheap as they are I can usually find deals on lightly used equipment that is much better...

So I guess the question was more for academic purposes than anything else.

I have an 80a combo in an e-revo, I just run 4s, but have been well pleased with it. The motor is well worth twice a hobbycity one. Liked it enough to buy another one for my wifes e-maxx.

Good info, have you ever run a feigao motor? If so how does it compare?

I have never had an actual feigao, I have a nemesis, couple bidproducts, couple demagged hobbycity's, coupe hw's, and a cc2200. I think it is pretty comparable to the bidproduct smooth can motors, which I really havn't had any bad luck with either, again just on 4s. I havn't ran one of the ribbed. Seems just as good as the nemesis. The fan heatsink is a plus too. I kind of hate to admit it, but running the cc2200, and the hw2350, I really can't see spending the extra for the cc after having both, for what I do anyway. If I were racing, and needed every last bit, maybe so. I honestly kind of thought there would be this night and day difference going from the cheapo motor to a good motor, I really was kind of dissapointed. I can honestly say that the hobbycity ones are not worth the money.

a nemesis is a feigao, just relabeled by f@#! design

Very informative. For the price and your information I will give them a shot for sure. If they work awsome if not oh well. I will try and post up a review once I get it(ordering it tommorw most likely).
