rc8te gearing on novak 6.5?

I think its a 50t spur in it now but I want to know a starting point of gear ratio. As I said I'll be running a novak 6.5, I think the kv is around 3000?, with a hobbywing 150a esc. I'll upgrade the motor oneday, maybe after I cook this one. So what would you think is a suitable pinion?

the speed calc. says about 42mph with a 12t pinion , so i would start there and check your temps , i would also look for a 11t if available , or go up on the spur if posible , a 52 , 54 , would help with the gear mesh and give you more pinion options

if you havent checked out the speed calc. it is a stickey in the brushless thread

Yeah I was just looking at the speed calc. It's just I don't trust it 100% because I don't know the diff ratios on this thing. But it's good to know you got the same answer I did. Thanks entjoles

The RC8T has typical 1/8 truggy diffs 43/10. Personally I wouldn't bother with the Novak 6.5 motor in the truggy. It's a small motor for the application and geared for 42 I bet it only lasts a couple runs. If you are going to use it get a nitro 54 tooth spur and a 10T pinion, possibly a 11T but your still going to be pushing that motor pretty hard.

Yes it will flog the motor:whip: but I wanted to run a sensored system. I have a sensorless system but I have to wait for my mmm to return from repair. Thanks for the diff ratio E-revonut.

Get a beloved Tekin RX8 system for sensored system....

But I too don't think the Novak is going to be enough to push it hard. Make sure you video the meltdown!
