Custom 9920 case!

My own custom 9920 esc case, with duel fan mounts. You mount the case either by glue, or you can bolt it down like a tmaxx battery holder. Think it will do the job?

Looks like it'd work great, makes my zip ties look like I'm still in the Dark Ages though. ;)

looks nice, maybe you should seal the box? lol, have on fan blow in, another blow out?

Superemaxx89 01.19.2006 11:14 AM

Thats what the two large holes are for, it enables me to mount 2 fans, one blows in, the other out.

Is that made from aluminium? I'd imagine it must be quite weighty?

Superemaxx89 01.19.2006 06:44 PM

Plastic. I was afraid that aluminum will short circuit the esc too easily. If any shred of heat shrink melted, or I cut the heat shrink just a little too much around the programming tabs, that would be $200 out the window. Plastic is the way to go.

Sealing the box will be more time than its worth. The purpose of the box is to be a device in which you can securly mount an esc, with no zip ties or other "dark age" methods and securley mount two fans on top. It isn't really supposed to protect it from water, sand and other elements so I leave the box unsealed. Besides the ventilation of the box being unsealed is better than sealed.

Thanks

You should have both fans blowing directly onto the ESC, as its not a sealed box you don't need an extraction fan.

I had that idea tucked in the back of my mind, but now that the idea has been brought to my attention, i'll do it.
