I want more speed!

Right now i have the HV-Maxx on 14 cells what top speed do you think i am getting with this setup? Spur 70 14 pinion and stock tires.

Would a Warrior 9920 Brushless and a Feigao brushless motor 540 9L or 10L be a good upgrade from the HV-Maxx motor? Also what top speed do you think i could get? That setup would be the best i can get?

Get the 9920 and the Wanderer 10L or the January offer ( 9920+Feigao 10L) with 16 cells ans go from 14t pinion to 16 teeth or higher. Keep an eye on the temp of the setup. You'll be in the mid-hi 40s for sure. Your e-maxx is stock, right?

Chris911 01.19.2006 03:18 PM

It's all stock but the HV motor plus i added steel ideler gears, MIP cvds front and rear and center and a G1 single speed trans is on the way.

Only thing left to upgrade is the diffs.

captain harlock 01.19.2006 03:39 PM

Okay. Put in the diffs and the setup I mentioned above. You'll see a major difference in terms of torque and speed.

squeeforever 01.19.2006 07:02 PM

might want to consider a xl motor. more torque, better runtimes, cooler temps, ect. as well as the ability to go from a lower cells count to a much higher count (ex. 7xl anywhere from 12-18).

captain harlock 01.19.2006 08:30 PM

But it would be a hassle with the stock chassis. Dont you think so , Squee?

squeeforever 01.19.2006 08:59 PM

that would be a hassle? nothing i can think of would be. unless you means the extra cells which wouldnt really be. 6 flat with the rest on top and g3xl straps.

Chris911 01.20.2006 12:42 AM

I would use 14 cells since i already have 4 packs of them and yes i do use the stock chassis will the motor mount same as the HV?

Dafni 01.20.2006 07:30 AM

For your 14 cells, I would suggest an XL motor as well. 7XL if speed is your goal, and 9XL if you're after runtime. 8XL for something in the middle.
All of them will easily beat the HV, and yes, they bolt right on, no hassle whatsoever.

Chris911 01.21.2006 11:42 AM

I don't know which motor to get it's between these 3. I guess any of them can be used with the Warrior 9920?

Feigao 540 10L Brushless motor
Feigao 540 9L Brushless motor
Feigao 540 8L Brushless motor

I'm not worried about run times, i want more power and speed than what the HV gives me, i only get run time of 11min on GP 3300 now.

captain harlock 01.21.2006 12:04 PM

10L with 14-16 cells. You have to make some ventalations for the esc and motor to keep things cool, though I'm sure the 10L and 9920 wont suffer like the HV.

squeeforever 01.21.2006 12:40 PM

the 8xl should perform better and have better runtimes than the 10l on 14 cells.

I 100% sure the 8xl would be better, but I think HE is lookinfg for the January offer. He wants something faster than the Novak HV, but do not inflict much damage to the transmission. Though I think he still needs to modify the diffs and tranny just a bit. He, as he mentioned, do not look for more run times. Speed is the goal as much as I've understood. Otherwise the 8xl is surely better. Bigger is better, but it's an overkill for a stock e-maxx.:)

Chris911 01.21.2006 02:38 PM

It's not all stock

I have so far

MIP's CVDs front, rear and center, UE steel ideler gears, G1 single speed trans on the way what's left to upgrade besides the diffs? And yes speed and power is the goal and i'm sure i will use more than 14 cells later on since i have the battery starps.

squeeforever 01.21.2006 02:45 PM

then i would go with the xl. not to mention i think the january deal is over.
