1:18 motor

Hello all, I have a question. My brother has a rc18 with a mamba 6900kv motor. Runs very well but now its a 100+ outside here in Vegas. Looking for a motor that will fit and run way cooler, motor at 130-140 in just 2 min. I had ordered a 2200kv medusa for my 1:10 running 4s and my motor will only hit 120 running all day. If someone can help , all motors I seem to find are slightly to large and have high kv # . Will be running 2 and 3s packs. Thank you.

it's nice to finally see someone else from vegas here on the forums. the heat does suck here and it one of the reasons i'm done with nitro. get an ammo motor. they are one of the best motors for 1/18 models for the money and they run stone cold.

Hey scarlet, Do you know if any of the local shops carry the Ammo brand of motors. Also do you run one of these motors, what kv to keep the heat down. Tried to run the rc18 earlier and it was burning up, my 1:10 scale only hit 125 doing nothing but speed runs.

If you have the $ and can find one, a lehner is the way to go! I have a 1020/12 (5000kv) in my M18T, it barely gets warm, never even bothered to temp it.

Medusa 28mm motors and Neu 1100 series. You can probably order in an ammo at your lhs and that is one of the best options... But I would go with the medusa.

you ever heard of cutting edge hobbies? they are a non-franchised, small, family owned business. it's on Ann and Simmons. they are open all days but monday and they sell the ammo motor you need. i've seen a few people running those ammo motors and they are insane. they have much more power than the mamba motors and they run so much cooler.

Remember Medusa and Neu will have a very large improvement to the ammo, although the ammo is good.
